ITS Project Manager Job Description
An Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Project Manager is responsible for leading infrastructure projects related to the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of ITS. They manage stakeholder relationships and communicate the status of the project to clients, partners, and project team members.
Responsibilities
- Deliver framework contracts for clients
- Oversee the technical side of ITS works on the network
- Manager project resources including personnel, equipment and materials
- Ensure projects are delivered to the quality standards
- Reporting and investigation into incidents on the network
- Keep up with workplace health and safety standards
- Participate in the bidding for new projects with new clients
- Plan, manage, and deliver Intelligent Transportation Systems on projects
- Create and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and clients
Requirements
- Hold a tertiary qualification in a relevant field, e.g. Civil, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Transportation Management, Electronic
- Demonstrated experience in project management and ITS technology
- Be a confident communicator, both in written and verbal form
- Have experience and confidence in cost reporting, forecasting, and contractual acumen
- Strong analytics, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Experience in the road and transport construction industry
- Practical knowledge of Department of Transport specifications and contracts
Working Conditions
- Travel may be required to worksites
- Mainly work in an office environment
- Extra hours may be required when nearing the completion of a project
- Generally a challenging position
- Work schedules tend to vary depending on project needs
- A lot of collaborative work with other professionals working on the project
Average Salary
- $125k – $145k per year in Australia
