ITS Site Engineer Job Description

An ITS Site Engineer is responsible for overseeing the technical side of ITS works on a network. This means providing on-site technical support and assistance with IT infrastructure, engineering software and hardware at various sites. They play an important role in maintaining smooth IT operations and resolving technical issues promptly to support construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Deliver framework contracts for clients
• Provide IT support and troubleshooting for engineering hardware, software and systems at project sites
• Collaborate with the IT team to set up and maintain efficient network infrastructures at construction sites
• Aid in the bidding for new civil engineering and construction contracts
• Install, configure and maintain engineering software applications
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues
• Oversee the technical side of ITS works on the network
• Implement and maintain data security measures to protect engineering data and intellectual property
• Assist in the deployment and upgrading of IT infrastructure and software solutions
• Maintain data security measures to protect sensitive engineering data

Requirements

• Hold a tertiary qualification in Civil, Electronic, Electrical, or any other relevant engineering field
• Experience in ITS technology and project management
• Experience in cost reporting, contractual acumen and forecasting
• Hold a full driver’s license
• Strong technical knowledge of engineering software applications and their integration with IT systems
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to resolve technical issues efficiently
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively
• Familiarity with IT security best practices and data protection regulations

Working Conditions

• Work both on-site and in an office environment depending on construction projects
• Occasional travel between construction sites
• Work depends on the project requirements or when nearing a project
• May involve lifting and moving IT equipment and setting up the network infrastructure.

Average Salary

• $95k – $115k per year in Australia
