Project Manager Job Description
Project Managers lead civil engineering and construction project plans and manage the team responsible for the delivery. They coordinate the entire project, from ideation through to completion. This includes controlling aspects of health and safety, commercial & contractual aspects, quality and environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive projects, define scopes, deliverables, timelines and resource allocation in alignment with client requirements
- Manage project progress and delegate tasks as required for the project
- Build and lead project teams, and foster collaboration among team members
- Understand the Health and Safety/ Quality/ environmental measures
- Develop and manage the overall programming of the works
- Manage all the aspects of a Civil Construction project such as the procurement process, coordinate with subcontractors
- Liaise with your site team and drive the program to an effective and successful conclusion
- Keep accurate records of progress reports, budgets, and other relevant project documentation
- Coordinate tender response processes
- Maintain effective communication with team members, authorities, clients, and other stakeholders
- Ensure the project adheres to national regulations and obtains any necessary permits and approvals
Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction.
- Previous Project Management experience in civil construction (delivering projects valued at $20m+) through on-site supervision and management of construction activities
- A proactive and solutions-orientated attitude.
- A comprehensive understanding and demonstrated experience of modern civil construction techniques relating general civil engineering involving earthworks, pavements, Utilities & services, & drainage works.
- Must have high attention to detail in ensuring the Quality, Health & Safety and Environment plans are implemented and followed to the highest of standard.
- Previous team management experience with excellent communication skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
- A good understanding and demonstrative experience of civil engineering.
- Ability to work in a demanding environment in challenging conditions
Average Salary
- $120k to $145k per year in Australia
- $105k to $125k pe year in New Zealand
